Printing directly from your iPad is safe, but the downside is that you must have an AirPrint compatible printer to use this feature. AirPrint compatible printers, from Brother, Canon, Dell, Epson, Hewlett Packard, Lexmark and Samsung. AirPrint also requires iOS 4.2 or greater and a Wi-Fi connection.

1. your printer to your Wi-Fi network.

3. Tap an AirPrint-compatible app. AirPrint-compatible native apps include Mail, Safari, Pictures, Notes, and Maps; many third-party apps as well as paid Apple apps are also AirPrint compatible.
4. Tap the envelope icon.

6. Tap “Printer Selection.” If your printer appears in the notes, you have configured it correctly to create AirPrint.
